Applications for HSI 2013

Our first application for the 2013 program has arrived!! (from Rwanda). I've also received email inquiries about the program from Azerbaijan, Tunisia, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Afghanistan, Kosovo and many others. If you know anybody that might be interested in applying for the 2013 Hansen Summer Insitute, please let them know we're currently accepting applications. The deadline for international students is January 11, 2013 (for U.S. students it is February 16th.)

Hansen Summer Institute applications are now available

To apply for the 2013 HSI program please visit our website and click on the Application page.

Once you've downloaded the application please read the following directions for additional information:

• If you are using an older version of Word (older than 2007) you must enable macros before you can begin. There will be a security warning at the top of the Word document that “some active content has been disabled” and you will need to click the options box and then select “Enable this content”.
• Once you download the application—treat the document as you would any Word document; you can fill in the blanks on your computer and then email the application back once it is complete.
• Forms 5 & 6 can be downloaded separately and emailed to your referees to be filled out and sent either back to you or directly to the Hansen Summer Institute. Please remember that these forms should be submitted with letters of recommendation that can be scanned & emailed, faxed or sent via regular mail.
• Before submitting the completed application, please remember to ‘Save as <Your Name>’.
• Form 7 must be printed, signed where appropriate, and then scaned to submit it via email, or it can be faxed to 619-849-8195 or sent via regular mail to the address on the application.
• Your application will not be reviewed by the selection committee until we have received The entire, completed application (Forms 1-7, as well as your letters of reference).

Our new digs

Our new office at the University of San Diego is located in the Global Center in the School of Leadership and Education Sciences.

The space itself is very large with plenty of room for this little table (above) and the desk, not to mention a huge window!

We've laid out the tentative schedule on this bulletin board so we can make quick changes to dates and times depending on the availability of speakers and venues....

Welcome Back

We are delighted to announce that the Hansen Summer Institute has been re-funded! The program will re-start in a new location - the School of Leadership and Education Sciences at the University of San Diego. The next Summer Institute will take place in July 2013. Like the last year of the program we will have 20 participants (5 American & 15 International) from all corners of the globe.

Once again Ron Bee is the Managing Director and Bonnie Lamb is the Program Coordinator. Feel free to contact us with any questions or comments

The application deadline for international students is January 11, 2013. American participants need to apply by February 16, 2013. Applications will be available on our website as of September 1, 2012.
